3 Day SketchUp and Drawing Workshop in Denver!

Robh Ruppel works in Art Direction and Visual Development at Naughty Dog based in Santa Monica, California. Robh is a highly skilled, 2D/3D professional with many years experience in using digital and traditional media. Robh worked as Art Director and Production Designer for Disney Feature Animation for nearly 12 years. Robh recently commented on us saying "your SketchUp site is the best out there". New Tutorial - Creating Fog and Night Effect Using GIMP


Matthew L. Facundus  sent us a super easy tutorial for creating the effect of day time fog aerial view and then using that same effect for a night scene. This method is used to create the illusion of fog for an aerial perspective using GIMP. Click on image to see this great little tut..

Plugin for selecting Dulux paint colors..


Dulux Trade has a digital color tool to enable architects and designers to download 2,000 shades into an existing design software package.The free digital resource contains all the shades in the Dulux Trade Color Palette. It works with Photoshop, AutoCad, Archicad and SketchUp. Very handy! Windows only plugin at the moment though it seems...See here if you are interested.

Great new tutorial published today..SketchUp 2D Image Export with Alpha Mask by David Macdonald


This tutorial deals with the export process, particularly the creation of Alpha Masks for your model.  Although, as is so often the case with tutorials, the instructions look long and complicated there is nothing in any of the tutorials which requires more than a modest knowledge of SketchUp or Photoshop.This is the first in a series of three tutorials by David Macdonald. SketchUpArtists host Web Conference with NorthWestern University in Chicago....


We were recently asked by William Graham, a student at the Center for Talent Development at NorthWestern University and founding president of CTD’s International Architectural Society, to carry out a web conference with young talented students who are interested in both architecture and SketchUp. The Center for Talent development is based in Evanston, Illinois.The Center for Talent Development at NorthWestern University is an accredited learning center and research facility that identifies, educates and supports gifted students and their families and serves as a leader in gifted education. TwilightRender Version 1.4 Released...


What the folks at TwilightRender are saying about it..
"In this release, we've fixed a long standing material problem that was causing circular image artifacts. We are pleased to say that the results are more realistic and up to 25% faster!"
The general consensus is that materials are better and its faster.This is some serious software.New speed and materials! Hopefully there will be a Mac version soon...
